John,

Do I really need to get inspections on my home before I put it up for sale?  Thanks Rick

Hi Rick,

Although it isn't required to have a termite or home inspection before putting up the For Sale sign it is highly recommended.  First, you will have no nasty surprises during escrow that could at best delay the sale or at worst cause your seller to pull out.  Second, you have the time to decide if you want to fix any problem area or how you will respond when the sell asks you to repair a problem area.  Third, it is one less thing a potential seller needs to have done before making an offer on your home.  I always recommend my sellers have these inspections done before putting their home on the market.

Sincerely,

John V. Pinto
